The front and rear sonar system helps detect obstacles at the front, rear, and corners of the vehicle.

The system is activated when the ignition is in the ON position and the shift lever is moved to either the REVERSE or DRIVE position.

The system automatically deactivates at speeds above 6 miles per hour and reactivates when the speed drops below 6 miles per hour.

While in drive, this system detects front obstacles. When the shift lever is in reverse, both front and rear obstacles are detected.

When an object is detected, a blinking green indicator light appears and a tone sounds intermittently. When the vehicle moves closer to the object, the color of the indicator turns yellow and the rate of the blinking increases. When the vehicle is very close to the object, the indicator light stops blinking, turns red and a tone is continuously heard.

INFINITI today announced that Tucson, Arizona engineering student, Andre Schreiber, was the recipient of the prestigious INFINITI 2019 Engineering Academy Finals award. This unique career opportunity will allow Schreiber to work closely with the INFINITI Technical Center and the Renault F1® Team for six months each, one year collectively.

Since its founding in 2014, the INFINITI Engineering Academy has sought out the most talented engineering students from around the world for a chance to work with INFINITI's engineering division and the world-renowned engineers from the Renault F1® Team. This unique program is the most successful technical recruitment program of its kind, with 50 percent of past winners securing full time roles at either INFINITI or in F1® following their placement. Through the Academy, INFINITI has successfully recruited talented student engineers in the USA for six consecutive years.

The 19-year-old electrical and computer engineering student, Andre Schreiber, was selected by a panel of judges from INFINITI, Renault F1® Team, the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance and Harvard University, ahead of nine other finalists and hundreds of applicants from around the country in an action-packed final at INFINITI Cool Springs in Nashville (TN).

The 2020 INFINITI QX50 has received the 2020 Consumer Guide Automotive Best Buy Award in the premium compact crossover/SUVs category, marking the second year in a row the vehicle has won this award. The Consumer Guide Automotive Best Buy Award was awarded after more than 150 new vehicles were test-driven.

You can send and receive text messages through the vehicle’s interface using a compatible Bluetooth device that is connected to the system.

Please be aware that text messages are displayed only when the vehicle speed is less than approximately 5 miles per hour. Laws in some jurisdictions may restrict the use of some of the applications and features, such as social networking and texting. Check local regulations for any requirements.

Some phones require additional setup to enable text messaging features. During the Bluetooth connecting procedure, please accept any requests for Message Access on your device. Other phones may require you to enable notifications in order to receive text messages. On your device, in your Bluetooth menu, select the info icon next to the name of your vehicle. Enable ""Show Notifications"" if this option is available.

Please be aware that not all phones will support every feature of the vehicle Bluetooth system. Some popular phones may not allow sending of text messages over Bluetooth. Please see your device's Owner's Manual for more information.
